Symptoms of Sinus Headache     

Sinus headaches are caused when the nasal pathways are blocked due to congestion causing infection and inflammation of the sinuses or the bony air filled cavities that connect the nose and head. These headaches can be triggered by a number of reasons ranging from allergic attacks and atmospheric changes to variations in hot and cold temperature. It is essential for one to recognize the symptoms of sinus headache and get treated in order to avoid further complications. But most individuals fail to realize that the headache is far from normal and can be a severe medical problem if left untreated. They continue to take analgesics and other pain killers which can actually harm them instead of benefiting them in any manner.

Also, in case the sinus headaches are misunderstood with any other ailment, the wrong medication taken by the patient can have adverse effects on the human body. The symptoms of sinus headaches are quite similar to those of migraine and can result in a wrong diagnosis. Symptoms of Sinus Headache:

Sinus headache is accompanied by a slow and constant pain marked by pressure around the eyes, face, forehead and cheeks.

The facial skin becomes tender around the eyes and cheekbones.

Pain is felt while bending, leaning forward and while blowing the nose.

Sudden movements of the head tend to aggravate the pain.

The accumulation of mucus in the nostrils gives a running nose and worsens the pain in the mornings.

Temperature variations such as moving from a cold room to a warm one cal also increase the pain.

The headache is aggravated during damp and cold weather conditions.

Running nose with sore throat known as pharyngitis often occurs with sinus headache.

A yellow or green colored nasal discharge flows from the nose.

Nasal congestion if followed by inflammation and swelling of the nasal passages.

One can also suffer from mild to moderate fever.

There is a genera feeling that one is unwell known as malaise.

Sinus headache also results in fatigue.

Sinus headache can cause a lot of discomfort to the individual suffering from it and can result in lethargy and weakness. In order to deal with this health issue, you must consult your doctor and get the right diagnosis based on the symptoms of sinus headache.
