You certainly don’t have to worry about any side effects that various OTC medicines have on the body and can get relief fro the pain and discomfort by picking out some ingredients from your kitchen cabinet. Of course, if your headaches keep returning and cause severe pain, then it is recommended that you get yourself examined by a doctor as this might indicate a more serious medical problem.

Natural cure for headache in your kitchen:

Lemon: Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and add it to a cup of black tea. Sip it while it is hot. Do not discard the lemon peel and grind it to a fine paste using mortar. Apply this paste on your forehead. This provides relief from headache that is caused due to heat.

Henna: If you happen to have a headache caused by heat, you can make a paste of henna flowers in vinegar and apply it on your head for instant relief.

Betel: Betel leaves are known for their analgesic and cooling properties. Applying them on the head provides relief from headache.

Cinnamon: The paste of cinnamon mixed with water when applied on the forehead provides relief from headache due to cold.

Herbs: There are various herbs such as Cayenne, feverfew, peppermint, dong quai, gingko biloba and Devil’s claw that have been found useful in treating throbbing headaches.

Kitchen spices: Take I tsp clove, cinnamon and almond. Grind them together and make a thick paste with water. Apply it on the forehead to get instant relief from headache.

Saffron: Take a pinch of saffron and mix with clarified butter. Rub it on the palm of your hands and put two drops of this mixture in your nostrils for relief from headache.

Essential oils: Use essential oils of peppermint, eucalyptus or lavender diluted in base oil and get a scalp massage, neck and shoulder massage done for instant relief.
