Walking related Precautions
Walking can be done anytime but the best time recommended for walking is in the morning or evening for the reason that at that point of time our body exudes maximum amount of steroid hormones that makes a person feel better.
Weather is fresh at the time of sunrise and sunset which cheer up the mood of a person. Moreover, a person should go on a walk only after refreshing himself or herself since maximum benefit of walking can only be derived after elimination of toxins from the body. It is beneficial to go for a walk before breakfast and after dinner at night.
Walking will be more effective if it is done in natural environment in the company of natural flora as it will considerably reduce your level of stress. Walking in park will provide your body with more oxygen. Never do walk in extreme heat as it can cause heat stroke.
Avoid walk on roads or lanes because paths made of concrete might cause pain in knees. Walking barefoot on grass for sometime naturally presses the acupressure points which benefits the entire body. If you want to go for a long walk then take rest after two to three kilometres since it will normalize blood circulation. Then start walking again.
Doing walk empty stomach is effective as a person will feel light. People habitual of having morning tea can go for walking even after taking tea as it will act as stimulator. In summer season, drink water before going for walk otherwise it can cause dehydration. Never do brisk walking after eating food as it can cause stomach ache.
While walking, make an effort to breathe from diaphragm instead of lungs for the reason that it supplies greater amount of fresh oxygen to the body which gets transported to brain thereby increasing our capacity to think and analyse. Incomplete supply of oxygen to lungs can cause bacterial infection in them. Breathing through diaphragm strengthens heart and also help in reducing weight. Sometimes, brisk walking causes pain in legs and stomach. For this slow down the speed. Deep breathing will also provide relief.
A person must do walking for at least thirty minutes. Never do jogging immediately. Initially, do some walk before starting to jog. Stretch your legs prior to walking.
