What is Vastu based on?

Vastu is based on the relationship shared between the elements that have to be properly leveraged in ones home to create maximum positivism.

Vastu is based on the relationship between the five elements, namely, Earth, Fire, Water, Air, and Space.

Vastu employs the fundamental belief that each direction belongs to a God. Therefore, when you build a home, you have to include things at each direction that is related to the God in that direction.

The sun god rules the east direction. It is most preferred that the main door of your home or building faces this direction, as the first rays of the sun will directly be greeted by into your home or building through the main door and windows.

The water god rules the west direction. The god of wealth rules the north direction. The god of death rules the south direction.

Vastu employs the use of the corner principle. The four corners are namely, Northeast – Fire corner, Northwest – Wealth corner, Southeast – Worship corner

The fire corner can be used to for cooking, as it is a place where fire can be burnt. So you can keep your kitchen or barbeque here, or even your hearth here.

The wealth corner can be used to keep a cabinet that encloses all your valuables, or precious items. This is a place where money is kept, because it is in this direction that god of wealth is present.

The worship corner is a place where you can worship, or perform religious activities.
