Types of Birthmarks
When a baby is born, you must have seen a different type of spot on the skin which is called birthmark. Some of the birthmarks continue to remain on the skin of a person in his or her entire life and some of the spots become lighter as the human skin expands with growing age. Birthmarks can develop on any part of the boy, be it forehead, back, leg or stomach, etc. Most of the marks are red in colour or dark pink in appearance. But there are some birthmarks that look very bad in appearance and have to be removed by way of cosmetic surgery.
Birthmarks are of different varieties. Moles are anomalous growth of particular cells of the skin called pigments. Generally they are risk-free chunk on the skin and can develop in different form, volume and shade. However, mole is not noticeable at an infant stage but it starts appearing in the later stages of life. After a particular age, you should get your moles examined medically. The need for removing a mole will arise if you notice that there’s an increase mole or mark is getting dark day by day, its mass volume alters very swiftly and if some minute black spots appear in the periphery of the mole.
There are different varieties of birthmarks that appear on the skin. Some of them are haemangioma, freckles, shady marks and mark on skin. In case of haemangioma, newly formed vessels of blood collect themselves in the form of a cluster at a particular spot. Freckles are the marks that mostly appear on fair skinned people. The part of skin which is exposed to the sunlight develops freckle.
The best time to get the birthmark removed is to monitor it till time it doesn’t starts troubling you. If there is any bleeding, pain or else any irritation is felt, immediately rush to the doctor. Some of the treatments available for the removal of birthmarks are laser treatment, applying certain medicines and also the X-ray therapy. There can also be a pockmark on the skin which can be easily removed or enhanced by way of cosmetic surgery.
