Treating Low Blood Pressure
Low blood pressure can be caused by many factors. It could be due to excessive stress, lack of sleep, severe tension and anxiety, improper diet, deficiency of essential minerals and nutrients, exhaustion, high level of physical activity without proper supplement of food and so on.
Awareness of causes will help you to redress the condition better. For example, if the condition is caused due to excessive work and stress, adequate sleep and rest can help in recovery. If it caused due to deficiency of iron, then improving intake of iron rich food or taking iron tonic or tablets may be beneficial.
By altering the lifestyle, eating habits and taking precautionary steps, you will be able to prevent low blood pressure and avoid the ill effects like nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fatigue etc.
Adequate sleep and nourishing food can help to recover faster. Take a day off and give yourself complete rest. Keep your mind calm and tension free. Anxiety and stress will lead to further illness.
Eat a healthy diet comprising green leafy vegetables, whole grains, cereals and protein rich food for strength and vitality.

Fruits contain vitamins and natural sugar. By eating raw fruits or drinking fresh fruit juice you can energise your body and recover the lost strength. It will reduce fatigue, tiredness and exhaustion.
Drinking solutions containing salt, sugar, electrolytes and other minerals will benefit in combating low blood pressure. You can drink electral soltion, glucon-D or ORS (Oral Rehydration Solution) for faster recovery.
Intake of dry fruits can also help in reducing the condition, as they are high energy foods. Eating almonds, cashews, raisins and peanuts can help.
You can make balls of dry fruits with jaggery. Convert jaggery into liquid form by heating; add crushed dry fruits to it and make balls when the mixture cools down a bit. It helps to improve iron content in the body and provides energy.
Drinking a glass of black coffee with basil leaves or buttermilk with a pinch of asafetida is known to provide relief.
