The Problem of Anemia

Deficiency of blood in the body is known as anemia. Because of this the capacity of a person to do work both physically as well as mentally gets reduced. Its speedy diagnoses lead to simple treatment. According to the latest research in the field of anemia, it has come to light that the deficiency of just 1.5 grams of haemoglobin in blood reduces the physical capacity of a person to a great extent. Haemoglobin is a rigid combination which is produced by adding iron element and because of it the colour of blood and blood vessels remains red.

The capacity to absorb food by colon gets disturbed by a particular health condition known as malnutrition. It is because lack of proper nutrition, body is not able to acquire requisite amount of iron element or vitamin B 12 in addition to folic acid. In such cases people suffers from deficiency of blood in their body. In many developing and under-developed regions in the world this health problem is widespread.

Some of the other reasons that have been cited for the deficiency of blood are malaria and rapid loss in the quantity of blood from the body. When this deficiency is fully treated the problem of anaemia gets automatically cured. Consumption of chloramphenicol (certain type of medicine) without the prescription of doctor for longer duration can also cause deficiency of blood. It also affects the mental health of a person. Patient may experience crabbiness, constant headache, chest pain and mild fever at regular interval. Other symptoms of anemia are appearance of pastiness in nails, face and palms.

Normally in blood test, the amount of RBC in blood as well as that of haemoglobin is diagnosed. In a healthy male, the amount of haemoglobin is between 13.5 to 18 gram per decilitre and in a healthy female the amount is in the range of 12 to 16 gram per decilitre. When the amount of haemoglobin is near ten gram then it is put in the normal category and when the amount is near seven gram then it is considered a serious situation. In order to treat this problem naturally, people must change their eating style and must concentrate on balanced food. They must take food rich in protein, vitamin and iron.
