Teenage Crush

Teenage crush could develop on a friend, a teacher, a sports coach, a neighbour, an elderly person or any person you may find attractive. The attraction could be because of the personality, style, looks, beauty or the way he/she handles you.

Developing a crush may be very normal and is mostly harmless. It may be that you just like being with the person, looking at him/her, talking to her/him, being around, and thinking about the person. There may not be feelings of attachment or love but still a strong need to be together.

A crush can be handled better than a relationship of love as there are no serious feelings and emotional attachment. However, if the person encourages you, expresses reciprocal feelings, shows his/her interest in you, the crush may turn towards a more involved relationship.

Having a crush is still a personal matter and does include various emotions. However, keeping these emotions under check may help you to prevent getting involved with a person in haste.

Realizing that during teenage taking a liking to anyone is normal may help not to panic. You may have crush on more than just one person.  However, tell yourself that this is just a crush or liking and nothing more than that.

If the person is not actually known to you and is not in touch with you, then you may do well just to let things be that way. Just appreciate him/her for whatever qualities you like and keep it that way.

You may keep getting thoughts about this person because of the liking or attraction. Do not confuse it with love. Take the matter casually. The more serious thought you put into it, the more serious the need for that person may appear. This can throw you off balance and make you feel that you desperately need this person.

Decide if you must keep the crush a secret or share it with your friends. Be aware of people who may just pass on your feelings to the person you have a crush on. Their teasing or linking you up with the crush may also make it difficult for you to deal with your emotions.
