Stressed Out? – Tips For A Better Living
Simplify – We are human beings and cannot satisfy everyone at all times. Learn to say no. Remember you cannot please everyone, and it is okay to back out of certain commitments at the earlier stage rather than later.
De-stress – Taking care of your health by eating at regular intervals and taking the minimum period of rest and sleep is important. When in bad health, even a small chore is going to be very stressful. De-stressing does not necessarily involve an expensive holiday which makes one more stressed at the end of the trip. A simple walk everyday with some music, yoga, a small nap, and regular eating habits are a good way to de-stress. If you have small children at home, a conversation with them is a great stress buster.
Be a child – There is so much of joy in the simple things that god has given us. Getting wet in the rain, watching an animation film, laughing aloud, and looking at life as an endless treasure trove are all things that children do. There is a child in each of us, and if we let ourselves go, and enjoy the simple joys, we can always go back and attack our work with more zeal and enthusiasm.
Share the load – Trust your family and colleagues. They can also complete the assigned tasks as well as you do and help you reach greater heights. Trust your spouse to take care of some of your responsibilities. A child who is above 12 years old can take up some of your responsibilities, and that teaches them to be good adults too. At the work place, trust your team members and colleagues and delegate what can be delegated.
Organize your work style – Take a deep breath, and take stock of the happenings around you. One step at a time rather than giant leaps will help you achieve more. Have a time table for each day and organize yourself. Do not deviate from the set appointments unless necessary. Do not postpone a task, however simple it may be. Doing it at the last minute creates lots of stress.
Positive approach – Every problem has a solution and nothing is impossible. Our attitude determines our altitude and we have the aptitude to achieve the same. Each one of us is a winner and a bad day does not necessarily mean the end of the world.
Take charge – It is your life, and leading a healthy stress-free life is your top most priority.
