Spirituality for Stress
Spirituality can alleviate your stress levels. Getting in touch with your core self, or embracing cosmic consciousness can provide a healthy energy in your body. This energy can give you peace and contentment.
Spirituality leads you to self-discovery. It opens up your conscious and subconscious mind. It can lead you to the paths less traveled, and open up a whole new world of context and truth.
You have so many ways to beat stress. There are a lot of books on the different kinds of exercises that one can do to beat stress and anxiety. There are loads of prescription drugs to subtle down ravaging stress levels.
But little do people realize that getting in touch with your core, or your internal self, through spirituality can make you sangfroid and relaxed for life.
Now let us start of with defining spirituality:
Spirituality has nothing to do with religion. It has nothing to do with the different forms, types of worship as expounded by the different religions. It is essentially a connection of you with yourself. It is a realization of the one’s mortality. It is cosmic consciousness. It is the awe inspired by the creations around us. It is looking beyond and looking within.
So how does one become spiritual?
All said and done, religion does provide a route to spirituality. You can pray to connect to a supernatural power, and also in the process understand yourself, your fears and inhibitions.
You can meditate. Meditation provides the much needed calming of the mind. It clears your mind of all provoking thoughts, and helps you achieve greater mind control.
You can play music to achieve a mind body harmony. Music requires a concentration and synchronization of the mind and body. It is also a medium of self-expression.
If you write poetry or paint then take it up with vigor and passion. Touch perfection in any discipline you choose.
How spirituality can overrun stress
- Spirituality helps calm the nerves. It gives you perspective and direction. It helps you come in terms with the inevitable. You look forward for the truth always. You are awed and inspired by things that otherwise did not come into your attention.
- You realize the life is like a wavering graph, with highs and lows. There is no such thing as ‘always’….like always happy, always rich, always content.
