Skin Care While Travelling
Skin may lose the vital properties and texture due to exposure to harsh climatic conditions. While travelling, the skin is exposed to dust, dirt, grime, heat, dry winds etc.
Dry conditions can take away the moisture from the skin and make it look chapped and dull. The skin may also develop rashes or white patches due to dryness. It loses the healthy and supple feel that it has in normal conditions. Facial skin can turn itchy and get peeled due to dryness.
Excessive heat can also cause rashes, burning sensation and redness in the facial skin. Due to heat there may be constant sweating. Also dirt and grime gets accumulated in the skin quickly due to sweat.
Dirt can damage the skin by causing eruptions, pimples, or itching of the skin. It can also darken your face and the skin may lose its healthy, clean and smooth feeling.
Do not apply cream or lotion while travelling as dust and dirt in the atmosphere may get stuck to it easily making the skin dusty and dark. If you find the skin peeling or scaling, lightly apply a moisturizer in that area.
Similarly avoid applying cosmetic products while travelling; or use fat free products so that the skin does not turn oily or sticky.
If you are on a long distance journey, carry a face wash, which is oil free, and use it twice a day. This will help in clearing the dirt and grime from the skin.
If possible use a toner or a cleaning solution that can deep clean the pores of the skin. This will prevent eruption of pimples.
Darkening of skin may occur due to travel; however, you must not treat your skin harshly. Do not rub it with towel. It may cause rashes or may burst pimples and spread the infection more. Just dab your face gently with the towel.
You may wash your face just with plain water 3-4 times a day to feel clean and fresh. Do not wash very frequently as it may drain vital nutrients from the skin.
