Signs Of Anxiety Disorder
There can be various life events that can cause anxiety. Anxiety is caused due to our inability to cope with the current stress or situation at hand. Our personality, attitude, skills acquired during the process of growth and development, our age, experiences gained in life etc have a bearing on how we deal with tough situations.
Anxiety is a manifestation of a person’s inability or fear to deal with a certain situation. Anxiety could be a result of past negative experience or a completely new experience.
High level of anxiety causes tension, stress, restlessness, agitation, sudden emotional outbursts and other physical discomfort like headache, nausea, increased heartbeat etc. Due to these conditions, a person becomes more helpless in dealing with the situation at hand.
It is best to take measures to reduce anxiety before it does harm. You can bear few pointers in mind so that you can recognize an anxiety disorder and take effective steps to neutralize it.
The common symptoms of anxiety disorder are sudden change in behavior, like heightened state of alertness, getting startled very easily, impatience, restlessness, agitation, hyper vigilance and hyperactivity. There could be increased tension, confusion and stress.
The physical symptoms observed could be sweating profusely, nervousness, shivering, wobbly feet, twitching of muscles, cold chills, dizziness, feeling light headed, increased heart beat, thumping sensation, choking or constricted feeling, pale appearance etc.
The mental state of the person may be very disturbed. There could be confusion, feeling that the situation is not real, feeling like the person is out of his/her body, delusion, fear, insecurity, clinging of something/someone, constant flow of thoughts, increased negativity and so on.
There could be hyperventilation of thoughts, and constant chattering or mumbling. There is an inability to relax and settled down. There could be sudden black out, loss of balance, feeling of nausea, dizziness or sudden headache.
