Preventing Monsoon Ills

Monsoon might bring a great deal of respite for most of us but it is also the breeding season for many health ailments. You must have noticed that in the monsoon season itself, dreaded diseases like chikungunya, dengue and malaria caused by mosquito bite raises their ugly head. The dampness in the monsoon season is conducive for that particular variety of mosquitoes that spread these lethal ailments. Rain in monsoon causes water to inundate the roads which in turn is brimming with micro organisms leading to lethal disease of leptospirosis.

An abrupt fall in temperature decreases the immunity if the human body and makes it less resistant in fighting diseases. However, some of the monsoon ills can easily be prevented by exercising precautions. But remember never to consume medicines as per your knowledge, always seek medical advice from a doctor.

The most widespread ill that affect large number of people during monsoon is that of respiratory tract infection, commonly known as influenza. It is accompanied by fever, headache, pain in body and excessive fatigue. The tiredness remains till 14 or 21 days. Contagious influenza multiplies incredibly fast since an affected individual stay infectious for at least a week. A virus can also be transmitted by means of using items like hankies, crockery and phone or computer along with an infected person. Some of its signs are intense tiredness, severe pain & indigestion, reduced hunger and vomiting. Always drink boiled water and clean carefully the food items purchased from market.
