How to Cope with Difficulties
Difficulties are common in life. Most of us feel terrified of difficulties and want to escape and avoid it at any cost. Difficulties do put us through a lot of strain, stress, fear, insecurity, suffering, pressure, mental trauma and can be physically exhausting.
The more resistance you have to difficulties, the more stressed and poorly impacted you will be. So do not have an extremely fearful mindset about difficulties. Do not brood over them. Take them just as they come. Being in a frame of mind where you are confident, assured and full of faith will make you courageous and make you feel challenged to overcome difficulties.
So, acceptance is the first step to cope with difficulty. Understand that this is the reality now and the only way you can move is forward. You cannot wish it away. Coping is the best option available.
Avoid knee-jerk reactions. Do not feel like this difficulty is insurmountable, you cannot solve it, there is no solution, you are stuck, you cannot resolve the situation and may have to suffer a lot. Such a response will automatically drag you down. Wait. Do not jump to conclusions, whatever the urgency.
Do not take decisions when you are stunned and shocked. After a while your mind will recover and then slowly ideas will start seeping in. Have patience. Do not take drastic steps or overestimate the potential/threat of the difficulty.
A comparison with others in difficulty may help you to solve your own problems with strength and courage. Difficulties are not the end of life; there are many more things beyond difficulties and troubles.
Take help. Do not let your ego come in between. If you feel scared, terrified, low, fearful, uncertain, demotivated, pessimistic, ask for help from well meaning and friendly people. You may find a lot of support, ideas, suggestions that will boost your morale and give you courage.
