Home Remedies for Irregular Periods
Menstruation is the discharge of blood from the uterus of a non-pregnant woman from puberty to menopause every month. One of sigh of conceiving is stopping of menstrual flow as during pregnancy, menstrual flow stops. It last for 3-5 days. Many women are troubled by irregular menstruation. Irregular menstruation means heavy blood flow, periods are longer than normal, and time between periods is longer or shorter. These are accompanied by headaches, fatigue, back pain and abdominal pain.
Some of the causes of irregular menstruation are your diet, stress, tension, hormonal change and intake of birth control pills. Here are some of the home remedies for irregular periods.
Home Remedies for Irregular Periods
At least twice a day, take decoction of bitter gourd. This makes the period to commence. Another remedy is to have decoction of cumin seed and gingelly seeds, sweetened with jiggery.
Consuming raw carrots or carrot juice for about 3-4 months can also help. Another remedy to boil the roots of fig and for few weeks takes the filtered decoction. Another simple remedy is to drink a glass of grape juice every day.
Prepare a decoction from seeds or leaves of coriander (cilantro) and drink it three times a day. It helps in regulating the menstrual cycle. You can also have green unripe papaya and aloe-sugar syrup as they are found to be useful in case of irregular periods.
Fennel (saunf) seeds and fenugreek seeds are also helpful in period’s irregularities. Eat a healthy and nutritional diet and make sure that your diet is rich in protein and iron foods. Avoid spicy, junk and fried foods.
Try meditation and relaxation exercise to free you from stress as stress is one of the main reason behind irregular periods. Along with healthy diet, go for regular exercise to overcome the problem of irregular periods.
Twice in a day, each time for 15-20 minutes practice kapalabhati pranayam. It will help in regulating the cycle.
Sleep for 6-8 hours at a stretch. If you have irregular periods continuously for more than 3 months, then it will good for you to visit gynecologist and get yourself checked up.
