Home Remedies for Cholesterol
Cholesterol is fatty substance and is yellow in color. It is one the most important ingredient of the body. Its function is to provide defense mechanism, transport fat, protecting muscular membrane and red blood cells of the body. It is also an important ingredient in bile juice and sex hormone. There are two types of cholesterol- LDL (bad) cholesterol and HDL (good) cholesterol. LDL i.e. low density lipoprotein is considered unsafe is deposited in the blood vessels. HDL i.e. high density lipoprotein removes the cholesterol from circulation, thus reducing the risk of heart attack. If the ratio of LDL cholesterol will be high to overall cholesterol, greater is the risk of heart disease and arterial damage.
Home Remedies for Cholesterol
Drink at least 8-10 glass of water daily. This is very good remedy for the patient suffering from high blood cholesterol. Another remedy is to drink mixture of 1tbsp of hilba in a glass of water and drink this mixture every day. You can also consume pomelo juice to reduce the cholesterol.
Ginger and garlic are considered to be very useful in reducing cholesterol. Another remedy is, add 2 tbsp of dried coriander seed in a glass of water and boil this mixture. After cooling down, strain this decoction and take it two times a day.
One of the simple home remedy is to have onion juice. It cleans the blood, cures insomnia and helps in lowering cholesterol. Another good remedy is to take cold hipbaths for about 10 minutes.
Sunflower seeds are considered to be beneficial for reducing cholesterol. Another home remedy is to consume 15-16 almonds and 17 walnuts.
Add 10 pieces of cinnamon sticks in 5 teacups of water and boil this mixture. After boiling, add a tbsp of honey in the mixture and drink it when hot. This is effective remedy for reducing cholesterol.
Use olive oil as it is useful for proper functioning of body system and also reduces cholesterol.
Along with these remedies, do take care of your diet and exercise regularly.
