Home Remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis
Bacterial vaginosis is vaginal infection that occurs due to excess growth of normal bacteria in the vagina. Bacterial vaginosis is not dangerous and most of the women face this problem in their reproductive years. Symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are Itching, irritation of vagina, burning sensation, foul odor and gray color discharge from the vagina.
There are certain factors that increase the chances of bacterial vaginosis; they are sexual intercourse, vaginal douching, and smoking. It’s not a sexually transmitted disease. It is not necessary that women who did not have sexual intercourse cannot have this infection. It can happen due to uncleanness of vaginal area and wearing synthetic under garments also.
Home Remedies for Bacterial Vaginosis
Yogurt is very useful in treating bacterial vaginosis. You can either eat one bowl of yogurt daily or apply yogurt on the vagina. Include cranberry juice in your daily diet. It will help in treating this infection.
Irritation is one of the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. To get rid of irritation, take a tea bag and soak it in water. After this, put it in refrigerator. After sometime apply it on your vagina and repeat this process for six times a day.
Eat garlic or apply garlic on your vagina. It is another home remedy. Washing your vaginal area with decoction made from triphala herb powder with water will help in reducing burning sensation of the vagina.
Taking a warm bath will help you in reducing the bacterial growth and will also reduce the inflammation. Make sure to dry your vagina properly after the bath.
Avoid wearing under garments in nighttimes, as this will give fresh air to vaginal area. Maintain good toilet hygiene. Wash your under garments properly with lots of water so that, no soap is left in that. After having sexual intercourse, clean your vaginal area properly and use a clean towel to dry it.
Clean your vagina properly, after every time you go to toilet. During menstrual cycle, use good quality pad.
