Home Remedies for Athlete’s Foot

Athlete’s foot has nothing to do with the athletes. It is fungal infection on the foot and is also known as Tinea Pedis or ringworm of the foot. This fungus lives off of the dead skin cells and thrives in moist and warm places. Its symptoms are redness, itching, and scaling, blistering and burning sensation between toes.

Home Remedies for Athlete’s foot

Prepare a mixture by mixing one part of white vinegar and four part of water. Soak your feet in this mixture for 20-30 minutes twice in a day. Between your toes fingers, sprinkle some baking soda and after fifteen minutes, rinse your feet. You can also rub tea tree oil between your toe fingers.

Another remedy is to mix 1 cup of Epsom salt and ½ cup of Clorox in hot water. Soak your feet in this water for about 20 minutes. If water gets cold, then add hot water to keep it warm. Repeat this 3 times a day.

You can rub a clove of raw garlic or put some freshly crushed garlic on the affected area. Leave it there for half an hour and then wash it with water. Do this once in a day for about a week. If you feel a burning sensation then, remove the garlic and wash with water. Try again with fresh garlic juice.

An effective remedy for athlete’s foot is to add 6 tbsp of dried chaparral to 1 quarter of boiling cheap wine or whisky. Reduce and simmer it for 20 minutes. After this, remove it from gas and steep for 8 hours. While doing this, do not use aluminum cookware. Soak your foot in this prepared solution.

Take live yoghurt, massage well between the toes and leave overnight. Wash your foot well in the morning, dry them well and then dust them with antifungal powder. This remedy helps in reducing athlete’s foot.

Wash your foot with a strong infusion of either goldenseal root or agrimony. This is very effective remedy and will remove athlete’s foot completely.
