Role of Artificial Sweetener as Sugar Free Product
Artificial Sweetener is that element that makes an eatable product sweet without increasing the level of sugar. It doesn’t contain calorie so apart from sugar patients, people desirous of reducing their weight can use artificial sweetener.
Artificial sweetener is sweeter in taste than sugar, so even a little amount is sufficient. Sweet is of two types nutritive and non-nutritive. Nutritive sugar foods include calories that provide energy.
If taken in limited quantity then this category of sugar food is beneficial for health. In nutritive sugar foods comes normal sugar, glucose, honey and fruits, etc. A non-nutritive sugar food doesn’t contain any calorie and they are known as artificial sweetener or sugar-free. This category of sugar doesn’t affect the blood sugar level in the body.

Diabetic patients cannot eat sweet products. By consuming sugar products the level of obesity as well as blood sugar gets increased which is obviously harmful. In later stages of life, increased sugar level harms other organs of the body also. In such cases, if a person feels strong urge for eating sweets then artificial sweetener can be used.
People who suffer from dental problem on a regular basis can use artificial sweeteners because consuming nutritive sweets might cause cavity inside the teeth.
Artificial Sweeteners are safe to use only when taken in moderation. But still, people must avoid its usage if possible because these products are hundred times sweeter than normal sugar. Even chocolate, coffee, cake, chewing gum, jam & jelly and diet drink are available in sugar free form.
Disadvantages of Sugar Free Products
Sometimes sugar free products are not suitable for a particular person. Whenever these products are taken by them, they feel headache, dizziness, insomnia, vomiting, pain in joints, indigestion, spinning of head and numbness in legs. If taken in larger quantity for a longer period of time than it can cause dim vision and weak memory.
Children of less than twelve years of age, pregnant ladies, aged people and patients suffering from Parkinson, blood pressure, hypertension, epilepsy and kidney related problems should not consume sugar free products.
