Banana helps in improving mood of people suffering from depression. It contains an amino acid called tryptophan which gets converted into serotonin. Serotonin is a hormone that makes you feel happy. It also helps anemic people as it is rich in iron which is good for hemoglobin.

It helps in maintaining high blood pressure as it is low in salt. Because of its potassium content, it helps in keeping your heart and nervous system in good shape. Not only this, potassium is also good for kidneys and bones and thus prevents the risk of osteoporosis. A medium sized banana provides 350mg of potassium.

Banana is also rich in vitamin B6 which is necessary to maintain a healthy immune system as it produces antibody. It also helps in maintaining normal blood sugar level. Consuming medium-size banana cover 1/5th of your daily requirement of B6 vitamin.

Because of its antacid effects, it helps in protecting against stomach ulcers and ulcer damage. It is rich in calcium so helps in building bones. Along with this, it protects your eyesight also. It helps in normal bowel activity and diarrhea as they are rich in non digestible fibers.

As banana contains potassium, selenium, fiber, phosphorus, magnesium, calcium, iron, vitamin A, B2, B6, E, niacin, folate and Pantothenic Acid and is easy to digest, it is perfect food for baby. Give it in mashed form and should be ripe.
