Immunity of a newly born baby is quite low, so it becomes crucially important for both the parents to remain alert all the time for the reason that handling a new born baby is complicated task.
An infant is extremely delicate at the time of birth and needs utmost attention. When you carry the baby, you need to support both head & neck of the baby with your palm since that portion of the baby’s body is most delicate.
The best thing to do in such a case is to follow what your doctor suggests to you. In the first few months, babies are fed on milk of the mother as it contains the requisite nutrients which can protect the infant from any sought of sickness.
A baby must be breast-fed till he or she is more than six months. Babies are to be fed according to their requirements. Burping is an important activity that needs to be done on baby at short point of time so as to avoid any gastric problem that may cause any trouble to the baby. It is very essential to make the accessories of baby germ-free so as to prevent contamination.
Massaging can prove as an excellent link for establishing poignant relationship between a parent and child. It will also provide him or her sound sleep. In addition to it, massaging will aid in absorption of food and also contribute in the development of body.
Bathe the baby on alternative days as regular bathing can result in dryness of tender skin. Be aware of the fact that changing of baby’s diaper is necessary as any carelessness can result in skin infection or rashes. Massaging with coconut oil is good for skin of the baby.
Medical Check-ups of baby on periodic basis is must along with regular vaccination. Take care not to take out a very small baby in the winter season.
Make sure to keep proper hygiene around baby as they are more prone to infection. Let the mother and the baby have adequate rest. If any person in the household or a visitor is suffering from the problem of cold or cough, then make sure that the person doesn’t come near the mother or baby.
