What are the sources of gas?

There are several factors responsible for the origin of gas. Erroneous eating habits and erratic lifestyle are some of the contributory factors. In erroneous eating habits, regular drinking of alcohol, over-consumption of spicy food, oily and fried food items can be included. Beans, kidney bean, pea, fast food, several heavy pulses and bread are known to cause gas. If you take cold-drinks along with food or eat oily and stale food, then also you can have gastric problem in the body.

Erratic Lifestyle

The kind of lifestyle that people have adopted these days is one of the contributory factors in producing gas. Nervous tension, inconsistent sleeping pattern and irregular diet are integral part of erratic lifestyle.

Other factors which can be held responsible for several gastric problems are swelling in liver, presence of stones in gal bladder, ulcer, obesity, diabetes, asthma, presence of intestinal worms, regular intake of painkillers, constipation, vomiting or indigestion, etc.

Remember:

You must drink water in such a way as if you are eating it and eat food in a way as if you are drinking it. Grind the food so thinly that it goes down in your stomach like a fluid. Properly chewed food puts less pressure on your bowel and the food will get digested easily and rapidly. Drinking water slowly doesn’t allow air to settle down along with water inside the stomach and produce gas. Try to take smaller meals after a gap of three hours. Make sure not to have water along with food.
