Finding a Suitable Partner
October 23, 2009
Before entering in a relationship or tying the nuptial knot, both the partners whether male or female find it difficult in choosing the parameters on the basis of which they should select their prospective partner. There are also certain things which should not be compromised at all if you are seeking matrimonial alliance.
Every one of you must have dreamt of a perfect partner. In case of arranged marriage, today’s generation reject the preference of their parents even at the smallest pretext. However, prior to taking an important decision on the matter that is going to influence your whole life, it becomes crucial to know some essential things.
First of all make a list of all those things which you want to see in your prospective partner. While making list, try to be practical rather being emotional. Never prepare the list when you have undergone a break-up. In your search for a suitable partner, try to figure out the negative traits which you don’t want in a person. Secondly, put aside your ego and think about what you can invest in a relationship from your side. You must keep in mind that no one is perfect and sometimes compromises have to be made from both the sides.
For instance, you have chosen your partner but still the word ‘improve’ flashes across your mind; it means that you need to be alert. In such cases, one must take a second look at the relationship before solemnizing it. Love alone cannot change the attitude of a person because the personality of a person takes long time to develop. Take a concrete step in your relationship only when you are absolutely sure about your partner.
No matter how many compromises you do, there are certain conditions that are bound to influence your relation with your partner in the future.
The presence of in-laws and their behaviour with you on certain occasions can help you to a certain extent in reaching a decision. Sometimes, couples are forced to live with the parents. In some cases it becomes the cause of confrontation. You must be clear with your partner that you cannot tolerate any undue interference. Most importantly always remain clear about the finances with your partner.
