Effective Ways to Reduce Weight

Obesity or excess weight has been identified as one of the main reason for causing diabetes, high blood pressure and several heart related problems. Very often people make a mistake of identifying excess weight as a sign of good health which unfortunately is an indicator of deteriorating health. By shedding extra body weight, a person can permanently get relief from several ailments.

For controlling weight, it is necessary to consume less amount of calories and do exercise regularly. It is advisable not to reduce weight by way of dieting as it can also prove bad for your health in the longer run.

Every person requires different amount of calories and it all depends upon the age, weight, sex, metabolism and workload of a person. Generally, a woman needs 2000 calories and a man needs 2500 calories on a daily basis.

For reducing weight, it is necessary to take fewer amounts of calories. For reducing half kg of weight in one week, a person must reduce 500 calories daily. Many people tend to take only dinner at night and don’t eat food throughout the day. This is not the correct way of reducing weight. In fact, we need calories more in day as compared to night because our body remains active more in daytime. By not taking food during daytime, metabolism rate will also get reduced considerably.

Consuming and burning calories at the same time is the best option to reduce weight. During course of planning your food chart, it is necessary to take care of the nutritional value of the preferred food item along with the amount of calories. Any food item should not be preferred only on the basis of amount of calories they possess. Remember that whatever you eat, it must be able to provide calories through protein, carbohydrate, vitamin, fat and mineral.

Diet and Exercise

Focusing on both diet and exercise is the correct of reducing weight. Reduce the amount of fat you normally take in your food and increase high fiber content in it, bring more variety in your food and try to adopt an active lifestyle.  Doing exercise on a regular basis, accumulated calories as well as weight will burn easily.

Measure your weight at least once in a week empty stomach after getting up in the morning. After doing exercise, metabolism rate increases for six to eight hours. For reducing weight, thirty to sixty minutes of exercise is necessary. Exercise also includes walking, swimming and cycling.
