Courtship Stress
Courtship is different from dating in some ways, and similar to dating in many ways. Both words are used in different contexts, or sometimes interchangeably, but whatever the case, men to win the love of their women do courtship typically.
Courtship is done on a large or small scale. The saying goes that money can buy you an expensive dog, but it can’t get its tail to wag. The same applies to love and relationships. Money is just an enabler to set situations, circumstances to sow the seeds of understanding, friendship and affection, and hoping that flower-plants of love sprout out and blossom.
In urban societies, people don’t have time for anything, not even themselves. So where is the time to court a women? Men in big cities are busy making their career, and building a life. Sometimes work kills the time for recreation and social life.
These men find it difficult to juggle between a career and also trying to sustain a relationship with a woman they hope to marry.
All this leads to stress. Stress makes the relationship wither, and the relationship surrenders to the pressure of priorities.
So what can a man do to keep his wooing instincts alive, and also his career-focus firm? Here are some pointers..
- Time management
This might be a word that looks like an unassuming answer, but this is the most effective solution to keep courtship options alive, and also have a career running along. Plan out time ahead, say, a week ahead. Try to keep a tentative time slot everyday at which you might want to call up your partner, or even pay a visit. Make the weekends sacrosanct for spending time with your partner. If you want some extra money to spend on your partner, then you can take up some extra part time work on a weekend to spend for the next weekend.
- Setting realistic expectations
In a world that is continuously evolving, human beings are adapting accordingly. What was the trend in relationships twenty years ago can hardly be similar to contemporary trends. Movies, sitcoms, or television programs also lay down trends or conventions on romance. Do what suits you best. Rigging in a relationship can set false expectations.
