Counter Effects of Hypertension & Diabetes

September 9, 2009

Successfully managing the blood pressure surely is a significant objective for people suffering from diabetes. Healthy blood pressure has an effective and positive impact on a person’s health in the later stages of his or her life. In fact, both diabetes and hypertension (high BP) are very much interrelated maladies. It becomes critically significant for a person to know that diabetes creates difficulties in the treatment of high blood pressure and as a counter effect hypertension increases the risk level in diabetes.

High BP & diabetes are interrelated for the reason that they have particular psychosomatic characteristics in common. Diabetes tends to raise the whole quantity of liquid in human body which is more likely to give a push to the level of blood pressure.

Diabetes also reduces the capacity of the vessels in the body to elongate, thereby raising the normal level of blood pressure. It also results in modification in the proper functioning of insulin production and absorption by the human body so automatically there is fluctuation in the intensity of blood pressure. An obese person, people taking fat rich food and also polished sugar are at more risk of getting these problems. Less amount of physical labour by a person makes him or her more vulnerable towards other diseases. Remaining active is the most important protection against any health related problem because sedentary lifestyle has emerged as the major cause behind the growth of hypertension or high BP & Diabetes.

Another common factor that can easily be figured out by patients of both diabetes and high BP is the genetic factor which can spread across several generations. Normally, both the ailments affects people above the age of fifty years but now-a-days even teenagers are at risk of such problems because of their reckless way of living. Increased quantity of sugar in the blood stream causes a great deal of harm to the arteries transporting purified blood to the vital organs of the body. Accumulated fat in the body known as plaque causes obstruction in the blood stream which in turn puts a person at greater risk of any heart related ailment.
