Causes of Headache

Headache can be caused by medical conditions like migraine or sinus problem. Sometimes, we may develop it without any medical reasons, but because of our own faulty practices. Lifestyle, fitness and diet patterns have an important role to play in avoiding ailments and also conditions like headache, stress, tension etc.

Some lifestyle traps that you can avoid are poor eating habits, improper sleeping schedules, lack of rest, lack of exercises that can improve physical and mental health. Headache can even result from acidity, tension, anxiety, constant brooding over matters, wandering in the sun without protection like headscarf, cap etc.

Starving yourself or eating very little food, eating irregularly and inadequately as compared to the level of activities and energy you require can cause deficiency of nutrients and vitamins; an outcome of which can be headache.

Not eating at appropriate time intervals can cause acidity and a fall out of that may be heartburning sensation, feeling of nausea, profuse sweating, dizziness or even shooting headache.

Again, eating very spicy foods, oily food, fatty food, foods containing lots of artificial acids and agents can have a poor impact on your body and you may develop headache. So avoid eating salted chips, wafers, spicy pungent acidic food.

Sleep adequately. Atleast 7 hours of sleep will be helpful in relaxing and de-stressing the body and mind. Also maintain consistency in the sleeping pattern. Avoid staying up late at night watching movies, reading novels, surfing the net etc. Do not sleep at untimely hours, as it disturbs your sleep pattern, and a disturbed, broken sleep can lead to a dull pain in the head throughout the day.

Some headaches are caused by excessive sleeping too.

Do not go out in the sun, especially during afternoon time without using a cap, scarf or umbrella.

Some individuals may get headache due to improper bowel movement or constipation. Stress, tension, anxiety, pressure of deadline, overwork, overtime, mental exhaustion, overworking of mind can also lead to headache.
