Brain fog can be caused due to psychological factors like depression, stress and so on. It can be caused due to medical factors as well…like poisoning due to intake of poisonous metals like mercury.

Symptoms of brain fog or cognitive dysfunction

The following are the common symptoms of brain fog…|

- Complete lapse in concentration
Mental fog denies the person the basic ability to concentrate on even simple things like writing, reading, and speaking. There is always a constant wavering of focus that shifts inconsistently.
There is also a sever deficit in the attention span of the person. The person will not be able to even give a minute of undivided attention to anything.

- Short-term memory loss
Brain fog causes short-term memory loss. This is like forgetting what you just said or what you just heard.

- Inability to judge space and distance
Brain fog can cut of spatial awareness. This makes it difficult for the person affected with brain fog to operate vehicles or take on tasks that require the person to judge distances.

What causes brain fog?
Here are the possible causes of brain fog…

- Stress and depression
Advanced levels of stress and depression can cause brain fog. This is because a highly stressed up brain gets over-worked. This cause nerve cells to collapse or damage.

- Insomnia
Lack of sleep can also over-work the brain. Over-worked brain cells can cause brain fog. The exchange of information between brain cells becomes clumsy. This causes the fog effect, when everything seems blurry.

- Low blood sugar
The body does require a certain level of blood sugar in the body. When this becomes low, the brain cells do not perform at their optimum…causing brain fog.

- Metal poisoning
Metals like lead, mercury and so on are toxic in nature. Toys are sometimes painted with paint containing lead. This might enter the body, and into the blood stream. Metal poisoning can cause brain fog.
