Benefits of Walking and Jogging

With the advancement of technology, loads of facilities have come to our disposal. For instance, while watching television, we use remote to change a particular channel. For buying vegetables from the market located just 100 metres away from our houses, we are habitual of using some sought of transport to go there. Such is our dependency on technology that we find it difficult to pick up telephone from adjacent room because of the presence of mobile phones in our pocket.
In such kind of immobile life, the movement of legs has slowed down considerably. As a matter of fact, walking is the top most effective exercise for health maintenance. Walking can be done both at a normal and rapid speed. Rapid walking is also called brisk walk. Jogging comes at the next level, after which comes running. At the most advanced level is sprint.
Walking displays maximum effect on hands, knees, ankles and thighs. Apart from this, whole body gets benefit of walking. If you are doing jogging then try to set a rhythm because it involves rapid movement. It would be better if the load is on the toes while doing jogging.
Using more of heels will cause pain in the muscles of your ankles. As a matter-of-fact, jogging is more beneficial than walking as through it heart gets maximum oxygen. It also increases the cardiovascular fitness of a person. Jogging must be done keeping in view the age and health of a person. Patients suffering from arthritis, breathing problem, heart diseases and also obese people must avoid jogging.
Walking is also recommended for the reason that it fine-tunes the joints of our body so that they don’t get stuck up. Walking itself is a natural exercise. It is always beneficial and doing it at a specific time and speed enhances its benefit of being a good exercise. It improves the metabolism of the body and also reduces depression as well as anxiety. Most importantly, it relaxes our entire body, thereby allowing it to function more efficiently.
Doing walk is like consulting a good doctor. Other health benefits of walking include lowering the risk of blood pressure, cholesterol, heart stroke, arthritis and osteoporosis. Moreover, it also strengthens the bones and increases the flexibility of the body which allows the person to remain more active.
