Avoiding Pimples

Pimples can be caused due to internal changes or external factors. Some of us may get pimples when we enter teenage, or pimples may erupt at the time of the menstrual cycle only. The hormonal action may cause pimples to develop.

Pimples also may be a reaction to certain medication, birth control pills etc.  For these reasons, professional help of a dermatologist may be required.  Also the medication prescribed by the dermatologist should be taken after consulting other medical professionals who have advised you about medication for any ailment.

The external reasons for eruption of pimples may be exposure to polluted air, unclean face, absence of care, frequently touching the face with unclean hands, excessive scrubbing of face, eating a faulty diet or using unsuitable face care products.

Know the kind of skin you have before choosing the soap, face pack or face wash.  Pimples could develop easily in an oily skin.  If you have an oily skin, do not use soaps that contain oils and fat. This will make it oilier.

Use face wash that does not contain honey, since honey moisturizes the skin. Use products that are especially meant for oily skin. Using aloe vera, cucumber or turmeric based products can be helpful.

A face pack containing neem may help as it has anti bacterial properties; prevents excess oil secretions and cleans clogged pores.

You may also use a medicated soap for avoiding/reducing pimples.

Drinking plenty of water is helpful in avoiding pimples, as water is a universal solvent and removes toxins from the body.

As far as diet is concerned, you may have to follow some restrictions. Eat food containing less fat. Avoid pizzas, burgers, wafers, chips, finger fries, greasy food, and deep fried items.  Restrict the consumption of spicy food too. Limiting the intake of milk based sweets and chocolates will also help.

Include more fresh green leafy vegetables and salad comprising sliced/grated raw vegetables like cucumber, tomato, onion, or carrots.  Eat fresh fruits.

Avoid alcohol, and restrict intake of tea and coffee.
