Are You a Sad Person?
Some of us may feel that we are habitually sad people. Being sad, or unenthusiastic, unhappy is a part of our nature just as being happy or cheerful may be a part of somebody else’s nature. Being laid back, disinterested, morose, dull may feel like the basic unalterable characteristic you have. It may feel like this a genetic characteristic you possess and may feel comfortable with this.
However, there is a possibility of a mental health condition lurking beneath. There is a possibility that you may be having a persistent chronic feeling of depression. You may not feel exactly depressed but nevertheless will have a dull mood all the time, may feel like weeping when things are absolutely normal, may feel excessively sentimental about relatively practical matters, crying episodes may be common.
The condition may not be severe in its intensity. It may not create a feeling of helplessness, fear, anxiety in you, it may not provoke extreme feelings like suicidal thoughts, however, there could be a sorrowful state of mind and you will feel settled with that.
You may display features like being worried all the time, preoccupied in your own world, disliking any interference from outsiders, wanting to be left on your own, dull pale appearance, state of inactivity, running thoughts, lack of sleep or excessive sleep, feeling mentally exhausted and physically debilitated, plain disinterest and no motivation or enthusiasm about life.
You may fear changes in your lifestyle or circumstances and prefer to have a monotonous routine life. You may know that you are not interested in living but may not consider taking a drastic step to end your life either. You may prefer to live the way you have been living and be left on your own.
There may be guilt or uneasy feeling when there is a celebration and you are enjoying. You could turn mournful suddenly and may want to escape into your own shell of melancholy and sadness.
