Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety disorder is a type of mental health disorder. A person having disorder feels anxious most of the time and this happens without any apparent reason. It also creates interruption in daily work as the person has a feeling of fear all the time. It creates a felling of uncertainty and fearfulness. Generally, this is known as the reaction to stress.
There are some challenging situations when a person feels stressful such as at the time of exam, facing a large number of people, a big date, before giving a presentation, before the display of result of examination or when boss is angry and these uncomfortable situations are associated with anxiety.
This is a most common type of disorder associated with mental health. An estimate says 1 out 10 people is suffering from this disease. About 40 million American adults affected with this mental health disorder. Women as compared to men are mostly affected by the problem. The disorder can affect the person of any age as an adult as well as an aged person can be affected with the disorder.
Anxiety is an alarming situation as when a person having anxiety and he/she feels threat, some symptoms shows the anxiety such as fast heart beat, tensed muscles, numbness in stomach and trembling sensation in hands and in legs. Person feels a hesitation talking to others and feels scared and unprotected.
There are five types of anxiety disorders: Generalized anxiety disorder, Panic disorder, Post- traumatic stress disorder, Social phobia and Obsessive compulsive disorder. All the types of disorders have different symptoms.
If a person having disorder, he/she should immediately consult your physician as he/ she can tell after diagnose whether the symptoms are of anxiety disorder or any other disorder. The problem lasts at least 6 months but it can be worsen if left untreated.
